Brittany J. Smith (she/her) is a Black Lesbian Speculative Fiction author who centers Black women in her stories. Born in Georgia and raised in Virginia, Brittany knew from a young age she wanted to become an author and read nearly any book placed in her hands.

In 2017, Brittany earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of New Hampshire. Her short stories have been published in The Bangalore Review, FIYAH!, Andromeda Spaceways Magazine and more. She’s currently working on her first novella and a sci-fi novel inspired by the Mass Effect video game series.

When not writing, Brittany can be found reading, roaming the shelves of a bookstore, hiking the Virginia trails, playing video games or gardening.
